Wing Chun is a type of martial arts. It has historically been passed from teacher to the student. Wing Chun as developed by a woman, this is the reason it has some unique principles than the other martial arts.

The principles are as follows:

  1. The main principle is to avoid participating force with force. The Wing Chun practitioners if possible prefer to prevent the approaching force than stopping it. Because of this prevention method perfect positioning is very important. This is the reason there are many arm practices as the rotation and the small circular movements.
  2. The practitioners are supposed to operate on the central line. This central line is the invented line, which a practitioner uses when he has to face the opponent. With the help of this invented line the practitioner is able to use both his arms at the same time

Wing Chun believes in using the least amount of force should be required for any participating situation. It believes that there should be small movements, which should be properly timed and correctly positioned for large movements. This can be achieved only through balance body structure and the body should be relaxed, fit and healthy. In the art of Wing Chun it is preferred to block and attack simultaneously than doing it on two separate beats.

In the practice of Wing Chun people believe that the person with better balance and body structure will win. Balance is related to structure only because a person having a well-balanced body can recover faster than any other person. A person participating Wing Chun should be stress free. The practioner shouldn’t have any kind of tension or any thing going on in his mind, which will make him loose. A winner should always be in peace and should forget everything else than when he is participating. Concentration is very important for a practioner for participating any game as one second of distraction can make him loose the game.

The structure and the built of the practioner are important because when he is hurt these things will help him to recover better and faster. A healthy and fit practioner is necessary for these kinds of games. A person participating Wing Chun needs a lot of energy and stamina, which he will get from regular exercise and balanced diet. These are some of the things which are very essential for the practioner participating Wing Chun.
