Paul Buentello
Paul Buentello's a mixed martial arts fighter who is renowned for his knock out power. Nick named “Head Hunter” for his persistence in going for a knockout blow to the head; he has had some outstanding victories in the MMA circuit. Born in Texas in the United States of America, he is affiliated with the American Kickboxing Academy. Competing in MMA for over ten years, Paul is one of the most durable participants in this combat sport.
Paul made his MMA professional debut in December of 1997 against Derek McGill whom he defeated in the USWF 4 tournament via a submission choke. He would fight again on the same night and beat David Davis also by a submission choke. However he would lose the final to Evan Tanner in the USWF 4 tournament.
Paul has had many other victories against high profile opponents. The most famous ones being in the Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC). Paul made his debut in the UFC in February, 2005 where he fought Justin Eilers. Paul would go on to win the fight by a knockout in the first round. His second appearance in the UFC would be just four months later in UFC 53, where he would use the guillotine choke to beat Kevin Jordon. However in November 2005, he would lose to Andrei Arlovski in UFC 55, by being knocked out in the first round.
It could be said that Paul “Head Hunter” Buentello is an accomplished mixed martial arts competitor. His strengths lay in his ability to both knockout his opponents as well as submit them. It would seem from his previous victories that his favorite punch is the right cross and his favorite submission is the guillotine choke.
