Marvin Lee Eastman

Marvin Lee Eastman, renowned as "The Beastman”; has a background in collegiate wrestling and is also a mixed martial arts fighter.  Marvin was born on June 8, 1971 in Merced, California though he presently fights out of Las Vegas, Nevada. Marvin Eastman is an expert of the UFC and is at present champion of the Elite Fighting Championship in the light heavyweight classification. Eastman has a professional fighting record of 13 – 7 – 1 (13 wins, 7 losses and one draw). Interestingly, Marvin is also employed as a permanent corrections officer, a profession he undertook before fighting as well.

Eastman has a BA degree in Criminal Justice from University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), an AA degree from Merced College, with a minor in Ethnic Studies from UNLV. Eastman is also currently 25 units away from a BA degree in Physical Education from UNLV. Eastman’s prestigious honors include the WEF Light Heavyweight champion, Elite Fighting Light Heavyweight champion and the Grapplers Quest Heavyweight division in Las Vegas. Eastman’s incentive to fight came with his first fight in MMA was in 2001 against Rampage, a unanimous decision win for him. Eastman’s premier appearance at the MMA was with ‘King of the Cage’ in June 2000. He was the winner thrice in a row, including his first match over Quinton Jackson before he suffered defeat against Vernon White.

After Marvin Eastman’s defeat to White, he wrestled against erstwhile UFC Middleweight champion, named Rich Franklin at the World Fighting Alliance's pioneer event. He bounced back in the subsequent two events of the WFA, with victories against Tom Sauer and Alex Stiebling.

Then Eastman debuted in UFC with Victor Belfort before losing by means of technical knockout because of strikes. Marvin then came back to KOTC to take revenge for his defeat against Vernon White. After this rematch, Eastman was granted yet another try in the UFC against a certain Travis Lutter, where he lost by means of Knock Out in 43 seconds of round two. Soon after his two losses in the UFC, Eastman lost via a split decision at KOTC's Mortal Sin event to Jason Lambert. Eastman exited 6-1 in minor shows, also including the ones at the Canada's TKO organization. Later, on 22nd July, 2006, the WFA resurfaced along with ‘King of Streets’ featuring Bas Rutten, Quinton Jackson, Matt Lindland and Ryoto Machida, to name a few. He then drew in opposition to Jorge Oliviera. In Marvin’s third appearance at UFC 67, he tasted defeat by TKO in a replay with Quinton Jackson in round two.

Only one fight remains for Eastman according to his contract with the YFC. He is rumoured to be incapable of facing Victor Belfort in Cage Rage 21, in England, on April 21st. Belfort will have to fight against Ivan Serati instead.
