Martial arts have been practiced since centuries. It is one of the ancient Olympics which were a Greek martial art. Each region has its own martial art, having their principles. Martial Arts are always advisable to use extreme care when practiced as there is all risk of injury. More of the injuries are caused to the hands in martial arts as they are the ones which are more active. It is even caused on the knee, ankle, hip and you can even get cramps swelling etc.
There are three types of injury mild, moderate and severe. The mild one is the largest category as it mainly is related to the soft tissues in nature. This also occurs in sprains in all the joints. The legs and the spine are always at major risk. The moderate one includes fractures, dislocation etc. This kind of dislocation can be caused in any joint but the most among amongst these are in the shoulder, finger and toes. There is also knee dislocation but it is very rare. The severe one includes the life-threatening injuries which mean that the injury is so bad that can even take the players life away.
The most dangerous injury is the head injury. Such injuries are considerably risky. Head injuries can even lead to the player to death as it is most delicate part of the body. If a regular martial arts player complaints about the strange arm pain then that should be taken seriously. If this pain continues regularly then it can even cause blood clots in the veins which could be very serious. It is very difficult to find out this serious condition as there are very few symptoms as those who are affected look very young and otherwise healthy. There can be difficulty such as pain, swelling etc. and if these things are suspected then the player should be immediately taken to the hospital for the clot-bursting treatment and this will be the end of that player’s career as the risk can even return without knowing.
There is some prevention for the martial art injury. The philosophy of most of the martial art is to fight. Many participants use safety as the mouth guards, head protection and gloves whereas children use protective equipment wich is not likely for adults. The participants who have no experience are likely to get injured more often as there is lack of technique, flexibility or general conditioning. The protective measures for these players are to teach them muscle stretching and strengthening exercises from the start of their martial arts career.
