The International Fight League was founded on January 7, 2006 the world’s first league, which is an American, mixed martial art by the developer Kurt Otto and the Wizard magazine founder Gareb Shamus, both are the two well-financed devotees of the mixed martial arts. The International Fight League is known as the IFL. The developers created a system, which was more, organized and would function better with the help of IFL. This innovation would make the fighters earn more of the profits of the sport in the martial arts. Instead of giving fighters only purses after fights they were now given a fixed salary and they were also given health benefits to train and to fight.

Each IFL is shown to the two teams each team consists of five fighters and each fighter fights one match against the member in the opposite team. The IFL currently consists of eleven teams. The league owns all these teams. The famous fighters coach all these teams.

The IFL follows the United Rules of mixed martial arts which has been established by the New Jersey Athletic Board, who have several expectations from them. The rules are that the matches consist of three rounds of four minutes instead of the usual five minutes. The strikes from the elbow are not allowed on the face or the head and if this is done then the player is disqualified or the team is disqualified as the authorities make the decision.  If the match is initially declared a draw after three rounds, there will be a three-minute sudden winning round that will decide the winner.

The IFL is made with some rules and regulations that are supposed to be followed by all the teams. Each team has to be healthy, well prepared and fit for the game to win. The IFL is new but is the first fight league. From 2007 the IFL has also made a new TV deal with the Fox Sports Net and My Network TV which will have episodes shown on the television throughout 2007. The IFL has even announced that the episodes will be shown on the TV with total impact from March 12th on My Network TV. This will allow the others to watch the league, which was not possible for them to watch without this arrangement. The IFL has innovative plans and are progressing day by day. As the days pass the developers will have many more new things for IFL.
