Ultimate Fighting Championships: The entity of the New UFC [Ultimate Fighting Championship] is considered to be the world’s leading mixed martial arts association, formed in 2001 by Zuffa, LLC. The New UFC features a strong ownership and a depth of management experience across a spectrum of live event sports, television production and ancillary business development. The New UFC is positioned well for the future as the standard bearer for the evolving and exciting sport of mixed martial arts.
Pride FC: This is a mixed martial arts organization based in Japan, and was initially promoted by Dream Stage Entertainment (DSE). Its inaugural event was held at the Tokyo Sky Dome on October of 1997. PRIDE has since held over sixty mixed martial arts events. Considered to be one of the most popular MMA organizations in the world, PRIDE broadcasts to about 40 countries worldwide.
PRIDE also holds the largest live MMA event audience record of over 71,000 people at the PRIDE and K-1 co-production, Shockwave/Dynamite, held in August 2002 as well as the audience record of over 67,450 people at the PRIDE Final Conflict 2003. However it recently has been bought by the Fertitta Brothers.
K-1 Heroes: HERO'S is a Japanese mixed martial arts promotion operated by Fighting and Entertainment Group, the parent entity behind kickboxing organization K-1. Grown from and branched off of K-1's earlier experiments in MMA, including the K-1 Romanex event and various MMA fights on its regular K-1 kickboxing cards, it held its first show on March 26, 2005. Although the promotion is relatively new, they already include in their roster some of the most recognizable fighters in mixed martial arts, including Kazushi Sakuraba, Norifumi Yamamoto, Melvin Manhoef, Royce Gracie, Don Frye and Vitor Ribeiro. The promotion is handled by former RINGS head Akira Maeda.
Bodog Fight: Bodog Fight is a new reality based television series and mixed martial arts competition. It is originating from Costa Rica, and created and produced by entertainment billionaire mogul Calvin Ayre, and his Bodog.com Entertainment Group. The show is aired on Men's Outdoor and Recreation, DISH Network, The Fight Network in Canada, and webcast for free.
Cage Rage: Cage Rage Championships, also known as Cage Rage, is a United Kingdom-based mixed martial arts promotion that premiered on September 7, 2002 in London. It has grown to become one of the UK's most popular promotions. Cage Rage is promoted by Dave O'Donnell and Andy Geer, who have also served as on-screen personalities for Cage Rage TV shows and DVD releases. Cage Rage events are shown on Sky Sports along with a weekday show on TWC Fight. |
