Anderson Silva was born on 4/14/1975 and resides in Curitiba, Brazil. He has 6’2 height and falls under division of 185 pounds weight. Silva is a terrific fighter. He has great striking techniques and has millions of fans. He is popularly called as The Axe Murderer. His MMA record is 16-4. His career started with defeat against Luiz Azeredo via decision. Luiz was Chute Box Academy teammate. But later on his career got a very good positive move. He won many matches thereafter.
Anderson Silva defeated outstanding fighter Hayato Sakurai via decision on 8/26/01 at Shooto. This victory was followed by victory against Carlos Newton via first round TKO at Pride on 3/16/03. Over last two years he has gained victory over great fighters. Jimmy Horn, Lee Murray, Chris Leben, Jorge Rivera. But Daiju Takase defeated Silva at Pride 26. His other loss came at Rumble On Rock event via disqualification with an illegal kick.

Anderson Silva In initially got his training of Tae Kwon Do since he was 14 years old. He also specialized in Muay Thai and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He became a jiu-jitsu black belt. Earlier Anderson Silva got trained with Brazil’s Chute Box academy. Chute Box is said to be home for elite Pride fighters. Anderson Silva was a perfectly fit for this. He had the aggressiveness and strength to fit the requirements of the Chute Box Academy. But Anderson Silva was not happy with the management and thus he left Chute Box. Later on he got trained with Muay Thai Dream team. Anderson Silva is an outstanding striker. His physical attributes add to this. He is very powerful and is a jiu-jitsu champion.

It is important to know that very few fighters can match his level. Anderson Silva is current Cage Rage World Middle Weight Champion. He has competed in promotions like Pride, Shooto, and Rumble On The Rock. As of late since November 2006, he has formed a new team called Black House (Casa Preta in Portuguese) with Assuerio Silva, Lyoto Machida, Vitor Belfort and Carlos Baretto. Initially, Anderson Silva was not that popular in UFC. He made his debut with UFC Fight Night 5 against a contestant from Ultimate Fighter 1 reality show Chris Leben. He got consistent victories, but got defeated against Anderson Silva.

After this UFC poll selected Rich Franklin to fight against Anderson Silva. At UFC 64 on 10/14/2006, Silva defeated Franklin with knees to the body in the Muay Thai clinch and then breaking Franklin’s nose. Silva won this match and was crowned as the new Middle Weight Champion. This victory was marvelous as there are only two fighters to defeat Rich Franklin. One was Ryoto Machida and the other was Anderson Silva. At UFC 67 held on February 2007, Anderson Silva defeated Travis Lutter who was The Ultimate Fighter 4 by submission due to a triangle choke. He is truly a master in this field.
